2009 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Professional Culinary Competition

To promote Chinese culinary culture, Lee Kum Kee sponsored the “2009 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Professional Culinary Competition” organized by the Eating Establishment Employee General Union.

Every year, the competition provides an opportunity for chefs to exchange experience. As one of the major employee unions of Hong Kong catering industry, the Eating Establishment Employee General Union contributes a lot in elevating the culinary excellence & status of professional chefs in Hong Kong.  

Competition this year is the first time to have participation from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau which enables more exchange among chefs and attracts more new talents to join Chinese catering industry to enhance and glorify Chinese culinary cooking skill.

In the briefing session on Aug 6, the competition regulation details were announced. The competition will focus on two different dish categories, namely, Hot Dish and Dim Sum. Each category will divide into advanced group and general group. Team competition and individual competition will be run in the advanced group while only individual competition in general group.

Besides cups or medals, the winners can also earn the opportunity of acquiring China advanced chef certificate by simply passing through related written test only.

Competition will be held on Sep 1 & Sep 2 at HK FTU Worker’s Club in To Kwa Wan, Kowloon. For further contest information, please visit www.eeegu.org.hk.
